Wood Duck Drake
My first good look at a Wood Duck. I had eased behind a tree covered by a borrowed camouflage cloth. With my lens peeking out through a hole in the fabric I stood just to the left of the tree. All I had was a 100-400mm zoom lens and this was when I realized I was going to need a bigger lens.

Wood Duck Drake
Photographed in the spring of 2015 this was my first time in a blind after the Woodies had returned for the season. They were a bit elusive that day and I only had great views through obstruction. But I like the glow that it added to this shot with its perfect reflection.

Wood Duck Drake
One morning in April 2015 the Woodies were not being cooperative. Mostly they stayed too far away or obstructed. And this time they swam right in front of my blind. All I could do was shoot this flank shot.
Wood Duck Families
One day in July I set up my blind and the duck families appeared almost immediately. And they stayed all day. I stuck my zoom lens up over my blind as discreetly as possible to capture this image. Would have preferred a higher shot but I would have blown my cover.
