Brick Pond

During the 19 months from autumn of 2014 through early spring of 2016 I made many trips to trudge through the untouched landscapes surrounding Brick Pond in Owego, NY.  During that time I wandered down every path.  And I set up makeshift blinds in a variety of spots with the goal of photographing Wood Ducks throughout their life cycle.  What I accomplished was that and so much more.

Brick Pond has a rich ecosystem burgeoning with lush vegetation and a wide array of birds, reptiles, invertebrates and mammals.  Having spent so many cherished moments at Brick I came to think of it as “my pond”, my home away from home.  The images, videos and blogs in this gallery provide a small tour of my journeys.

If you find yourself in Owego, NY stop by the pond and watch the beautiful Brick Pond nature show!  Showtimes daily from dusk until dawn.

Prints are available through my website of any size indicated in my Purchase Prints page.  For any print request of an image photographed at Brick Pond I donate a percentage of the sale price to Waterman Center in support of the center and Brick Pond maintenance.
